thanks for the responses, everyone, though of course I wish they'd borne
different news.  (Daniel, I'm sorry if I offended, I didn't intend to
presume).  tonight I'll drink one for scottie, wish to god I could tell
him how often he made me laugh, made me furious, made me think, though
I'm sure enough others told him for me.  puts me in mind of that
ginsberg poem when williams died (

angels of the left wing!  surely there still are a lot of bastards out
there.
