Welcome back to the list.  I'm glad you finally spoke up -- did I ever
mention on list (I know I did privately a time or two to Tim and Scottie)
that when I first joined I waited nearly a year to post anything?  It's
because everybody seemed like such close friends that I could never break
into the circle.

The circle is awfully warm when you want to get in, though.  

It seems to me that people who like Salinger share a certain ...
aesthetic, I suppose, and we like each other because we come from close to
the same starting point.  Most of the time, anyway.

And to Terry, this list exists (and keeps on, despite the losses of some
of our most beloved members) because we can't bear to let it go. 
Sometimes I think of us as a collective Buddy, writing stories and letters
about a beloved brother, lost but damned if we'll let him be forgotten.
