Chris, Jim, we know from the current accepted sources that Jerome fought
in France during WWII, he was in the thick of it at some points, he was
in the 4th, it was not a pleasant experience. The rest is sauce on the
goose.
Stories, fiction, is this a lab? Damn, lighten up, let the dog off the
leash, you're going to pop a vein.

Inductive reasoning is legitimate, just limited. So long as you keep
saying, "we can't know this with certainty" it's not so bad a thing.
It's even better when you describe the type of evidence you haven't
been able to find that would make your suspicion more of a certainty.
