[Bananafish] Nine Stories

he's pretty flustered after this horrific workout.  and how else do you
retrieve a burning cigarette, besides to sit still.  for chrissake, it's
just another one of those pithy salinger short story endings!

perhaps he's trying to give her a little of the blame for the feelings of
shame he's having.  i dunno.  sit still, jesus, just because you might get
burnt you don't have to go crazy!
