[Bananafish] Introduction

[Stephen Paul Peck SR]

I am Stephen P Peck a retired government worker, who served in Vietnam with
the US NAVY 91963-1967).  I have an average family of three children, sex
grandchildren.  I was born in Providence, R.I. but was raised in Cornish,
N.H., coincidentally just down the hill from J.D. Sallinger.

 

As you can imagine that was some years ago in the late 50's-60's.  My foster
mom knew J.D. Salinger's wife (not closely) and she asked me if I wanted to
work for them cleaning, mowing, shoveling snow, etc.  I said yes, I needed
the money.  I went to the Salinger house over the years and did the work
expected of me.  I never realized that this person was a well known writer,
author and that he was hiding in secrecy.  I was paid by Margaret (the wife)
and only saw J.D. on occasions.
