Mike, I've read; The Orchard Keeper, Outer Dark, The Road, The SunsetLimited (play) and I would recommend them all. I think you would likeOuter Dark particularly.I have The Stonemason, Child of God, Suttree, and Blood Meridian on mylist (the shelf on my side of the bed versus not sitting down stairs inthe library.) From what I have read and heard Blood Meridian soundslike it would be right up your "Gunslinger" alley.Fan's Notes is on my "list" now, but I have been side tracked with someother books but notably Philip K. Dick. Have you read any of his stuff?I read in past couple of weeks The Man Who Japed, Do Androids Dream ofElectric Sheep?, Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said, The Transmigrationof Timothy Archer, and some shorts. His stuff is interesting. The newmovie out Southland Tales is based on Flow My Tears, The Policeman Saidbut they didn't give Dick any credit on the jacket.I have not read any of Cormac's border books but the movie based on Allthe Pretty Horses biased me and I am super critical of anything set inthis part of the country since much of it doesn't ring true. I willgive the series opener and a chance eventually. The series is; All thePretty Horses, The Crossing, Cities of the Plain, No Country for OldMen.I think there are wikipedia write-ups on the novels to check out beforeyou decide.Daniel
